Teanaway

Think Woodstock, but much smaller. Lots of white people, lots of dogs running around, lots of music (If thats what 6 hours of continuous ACDC really is), and lots of drugs. Most of which I took no part in because I had a motorcycle, and a really big mountain. Its fun to teach people how to ride a bike, especially when they think that you're crashing everytime you intentionally drift around a corner, in which case they run into a tree. Jokes on them I guess.

Damaged?

It was brought to my attention this morning that (In their opinion) some of my choices this past week haven't been the best. I know that I'm not the most moral person in the world, but I honestly don't feel like there's need for change. I like who I am, (mostly). My choices are exactly that. My choices. Don't like them? Find a new friend.

Shoved in a Box

Its the exact phrase to explain what I'm feeling like. I've been given the freedom of calling an entire town and college my home for the last year, to have it taken away and returned to the little house in the little town I grew up in. It may be a temporary situation, but I'm sure not enjoying that fact anymore than the fact that I no longer even have a bedroom either, which means that all of my stuff that filled my house before is now next to useless as I sleep on our guest bed. Our incredibly rock-like guest bed. I've had a kink in my neck. all this week.

Woe is me.

I decided to google stuck in a box to add a little picture to this post, but after seeing that almost all the pictures were emo kids and cats with their heads stuck in a tissue box, I decided to go with his fish.

Why? Because he is an innovator. He is leaving his material prison behind him and going where dozens of fish have gone before! (The floor) But he is willing to put his life in mortal danger to achieve his dreams of living outside the box. He is an inspiration to me and should be to us all.

High five fish. High five to you.

I think I found my calling

Last night was also pretty fruitful of a trip, I found a completely never been used bookcase still unassembled in its box, about 5 textbooks that I will try and sell back to the store today, a good cutting board, a slap chop chopper that I will probably give to mom, a laptop cooling dock, 2 pairs of shoes that look like they've never been worn and a very nice tv. I don't want to brag or anything (didn't say I wouldn't though) but I think I'm pretty good at what I do.

Dumpster Diving

Should be an Olympic sport. If it were, i'd have taken gold this weekend for sure. Lets write up the catch shall we?

2 nights ago:
-3' Mini Fridge
-Small Dvd Player
-Bamboo and Metal Stand
-Window Fan with small crack in it
-Multi-layer Cat Scratch Post (For my friend)
-Swivel Computer Chair
-Box or free food and cans of coke (Not in the dumpster but outside the dorm door)

Last night:
-2 more (smaller) mini fridges
-Cool skull & crossbones carpet
-1 House lamp
-2 Bedside lamps
-Brand new vacuum cleaner
-Brita water filter
-3 bottles of laundry detergent
-Bathroom rack
-Shower rack
-Bike parts galore (Nothing great, but they make for good replacement parts)

Things left to me from roommates and friends:
-TONS of food
-Couple bottles of wine/beer/assorted alcohols
-Queen size bed
-Bookcase
-Another vacuum
-Swiffer sweeper and mop
-A couple pots and pans
-A toaster
-A lamp

Tonight? Only one way to find out.

I truly am supremely happy that all this stuff is now mine, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Think about it.

All this was thrown away.

I've always known that America is the most wasteful country, and I still believe that. But this past couple nights of seeing what people just get rid of has shown me the extent of our wastefulness. Its almost sickening at how much stuff is just discarded because someone doesn't want it or can't take it with them. And everything listed above is just the stuff that I wanted; there was plenty more things that were in just as good of condition. I feel like I am doing a service to my community by recycling this unwanted stuff. (As well as training myself for scavenging during the apocalypse)

A little time play

This is my post as of two days ago. I wanted to write to myself for a little while before I actually let the world know how things really went. You also have to keep in mind that for the last week I have been purposely keeping myself awake and going to sleep at the wrong times to do a modified 30something hour days where I am awake for about 20 hours and sleep for 10. (I know it sounds made up but I make it work) So although I wrote this post last night, It feels like its been sitting there for a week.

4:32am 5/2/12
Tonight is a night of many things to be considered and to be taken care of.
Not really, but I am in an odd emotional rut so please bare with me as I rant my brains out.
I have consumed more coffee in the last 3 days than I have literally, in the past year. I'm averaging about 8-10 cups every night. I'm doing this only because I discovered that when the enormous tidal wave of caffeine hits me I can read entire pages in about a minute and remember the entire thing the next morning. Keep in mind these pages are out of textbooks that weigh more than my left leg. Whats pissing me off at the moment however is that although I've been doing this extremely unhealthy yet effective studying for the past 3 days, it meant nothing for my biology exam today. Very little of the material that was supposed to be covered in it actually was in it. Meaning, that the approximate 75-100something pages I read last night were next to useless when I sat down and starting filling in the cheap little whore bubbles that they always remind you how to do, even though we've been brainwashed how to since our larval stages.
Larva? Ugh.
I can describe to you IN DETAIL how the circulation and oxygen diffusion system works in an Arthropod's exoskeleton. I can physically SHOW you the dance of how a honey bee scout can give directions to the rest of the hive members based upon the position of the sun and the magnetic poles of the Earth. I can draw flippin DIAGRAMS of how a human neuron sends and receives chemical and electrical impulses through its many dendrites and along its main axon chain, most of which has to do with the polarities and positioning of Sodium, Potassium and Calcium ions inside the multiple bi-lipid membranes of the synaptic cleft.

All of this memorized in one night.

Was any of it on the final?

no.

Coffee's done enough for me. I'm switching to a new poison. I hear arsenic and Kool-Aid makes a fantastic cocktail and I've been Jonesing (Hah, suicide pun) to try it.

Hold that thought, I'm going for an aggravated ride.

(2 hours, 10 uphill miles, and 1 passively aggressive email later)

I feel a lot better.

10:14pm 5/3/12
Things really are a going better since last night. While taking that ride I (Accidently!!!) almost ran over a rabbit on my bike. That's not the happy part, but you gotta admit that's worth at least an Xbox achievement or something. My email to my professor did just the trick, and I am going in to retake a similar exam tomorrow morning. Watched a bootlegged version of the Avengers, which was pretty epic. I might go tonight just to see it in theater quality. I also took an Anthropology exam today, which I feel very confident on. I went to work today too, which always brightens my mood both because the people and my supervisor's are amazing, and because there is always a ton of free gourmet chef-cooked food to go around.I was also told I looked like I lost even more weight since the last time I came in. Although this is odd for me, I take it as a compliment because this means that once I start my real workouts, I will be extremely tone and cut in all the right ways.

I think you are using too much sun screen, your bra seems to have fallen off.

I can't wait to start my summer. Just like Semisonic once said, (After telling everyone to get out) "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end."

Realizations of the Week

1. I look a lot like my dad. Not like I have his nose or something in that sense, but ever since I got this haircut every time I see my reflection I think its him, and its

creeping.
me.
out.

2. Motorcycle riders really don't like being shown up by a kid on a mountain bike. My family hosted the second annual Nitro Nationals Hillclimb on our ranch land in the mountains outside of my hometown. Because it's my family's land, I was one of the few people allowed to use a motorbike during the event without being in it, because I was helping out with the whole thing. Choosing not to however, because I had brought my tricked out rock crawler bike, too which most people thought I was foolish. Imagine the surprised look on their faces when I was able to scale all the same rock ledges and dirt tracks they were doing, but without an engine to help me (Not nearly as fast mind you, but you have to assume you're pretty tough when you're the only one pedaling the whole way). Downhill runs? Just as fast as the Motorbikes. Probably a bit safer too, considering I didn't have around 4 to 500 pounds of hot steel under me. I received multiple compliments(?) for the amount of steroids I must be shooting up to have kept doing it all day.

3. I hate coffee cups. The blasted things are so hot you can't hold on to them, to which its contents are then spilled on my lap and shirt. Once it is cooled down enough to drink, the plastic lid catches extra drops which are then spilled onto my lap and shirt. When you're refilling your cup and are putting the lid back on, it snaps back into place which causes more hot coffee to fly onto my lap and shirt. I knew there was a reason I never drank the stuff in the first place.

4. Dubstep is overrated. Not to say that I don't have a couple favorites, I actually have quite a few. In my quest for finding those specific gems in the trash, my point of concern is how Youtube is overfilling with videos and remixes of people who think that they've created "the most epic sounding dubs ever heard." Most of it just sounds like this, to which even a remix was made. Seriously kids, just because you ARE the youthfully creative minds of tomorrow, doesn't mean you SHOULD be.

5. Being alone sucks. I mean this both in the sense that there are people in relationships, along with the people who have friends that are perpetually attached to their hip. Both of which I have neither.
The worst part is that although I don't have a girlfriend, I still don't have an Ipad.

I'm not actually lonely at the moment, I'm just preparing myself for the suspected week and a half that I will be staying alone in my apartment in a town that just suffered an approximate 80% population drop, while waiting for systematic way of moving my furniture across state. I intend to devote this time to my Japanese studies, as well as hitting the gym twice a day and doing Insanity work outs like a mofo. I also have some video games for while I'm bored and will be posting odd job availability ads for any for extra cash. I fully intend to not let my depressive tendencies get to me, but I've removed all rope and sharp objects from my view just in case I stub my toe, ruining my work out and thus realizing the world doesn't matter anymore.

Snarkin it up

Maybe a buzz cut is the hairstyle that suits me best. I highly doubt this, but I have never caught so many people staring at me in the same week. Maybe it because I decided that I won't break eye contact with said starers, or maybe its that I look like a cancer patient/marine core wannabe loser jerky jerk. Either way its making me both self conscious and oddly brave when it comes to confronting people. Lately I've had what I think the kids nowadays would call a, "don't give a flip" attitude. (I always here something different on the end, but I'm too old to keep up with the hip hoppinin lingo)
On a side note, Snarky is my new favorite word. Not sure why, I just really like the way it makes me think of a tiny shark trying to snap at people who don't agree with him.

Put me back before I bite your other sausage chubby!

In other news, lightning storms have been passing through providing some much needed night time excitement (Not like that you sicko.) My workouts seem to be paying off. I can already feel myself going faster and farther up hills on the bike, as well as my willingness to get up in the mornings. Can't wait until I have enough time to start doing Insanity on top everything else again. It's also finals week for me and I'm studying by watching Supernatural while working on papers. Not exactly the most perfect system, (darn studying seems to get in the way of me paying attention to the show) but its working well enough.

I've yet to get a new phone either. I do miss my little orange phone, I've had it for almost 7 years I think. (Probably why it fried on me the other day) I do feel that it might be time to give into peer pressure and make the upgrade to a smartphone though. When I asked about paying my part of the family bill in return for the upgrade the parents asked me if it was time to get a plan of my own, to which I responded by imagining a small shark biting at their fingers. The major problem with getting my own plan isn't that I don't want to, (I would actually prefer it) its that through all major carriers you are required to buy package deals of a set amount of minutes plus whatever else you tack onto the bill. The problem for me is I don't verbally communicate with anyone, so why do I need to pay $80+ a month just to txt other hormone driven individuals, google words I don't know and play Draw Something all day? (Really, what else do you do with a smartphone)
It is slightly freeing to not have that burden of technology in my pocket anymore, but it has also created an urge to check facebook/emails every 20 minutes in case someone needs me, to which i'm disappointed (in myself) every time. I'm fairly certain once I am able to check my missed messages there won't be any aside from mother and maybe a bill reminder from the bank.

Yes, Hank? We've decided to bill you an extra 20% because your mother said you hadn't called.
Whats that? No sir, it is a common misconception that we are affiliated with Al-Qaeda. Although we have considered a merger.

Freakin weekend

Just like many trilogies out there, Friday was good, Saturday better and Sunday sucked. I had a friend come from across the state and stay the night at my place and we had a lot of fun. The next night we threw a huge party and everything was going pretty great. Since it was a blacklight highlighter party, I got to make a really cool looking shirt that glowed my name in the dark, and As a certain black gay man at the party said, "These Jello shots are AMAZING!!!!!!" (Yea, I made those :) I also found a girl who happens to sit behind me in Anthropology class. We talked a bit and I told her if she needs a study buddy for finals then I'm always here, but just like every other girl I meet, I doubt she will. The biggest problem however, the party didn't start till 11. And with a group of people who didn't really know what they were doing, this made the whole day just kind of drag on and on and on and........

The next morning was terrible. Not because I was hung over mind you, but both because my friend was leaving, my favorite cellphone is now broken and dead, and that the party had gone great without me. Due to certain reasons I cannot disclose, I had to leave my own party and miss the entire night. Meaning I missed the girl I was talking to, missed the people getting crunk and drunk off my alcohol, missed the lapdance competition that won a lucky lady a whole $2's, a whole other bunch of shinnanigans, and missed my friend having a nice time on her trip here. I wasn't too happy about it.

Since the morning was pretty bad, I decided to take advantage of the 85 degree weather and go for a shirtless bike ride around town and into the next town. Shirtless because it was hot, I need the tan, and all the lovely ladies were out tanning. Best thing about Wsu, all the girls are pretty and most of them are brave enough to full body tan ;)

Today however, is the day I start a change. I even christened it by getting a head shave. (Accidently) I will defeat my demons and devote this summer and the rest of my life to and only to myself. I also started my rigorous work out regime yesterday, to be continued today and on. Maybe a picture roll will follow so I can track my progress. Hmm. I just might do exactly that.

All Hail the Panda Gods!!

In my last post I made a certain witty remark about the effectiveness of fortune cookies and their future-viewing widescreen-seeing creators.

Apparently, I wasn't lying.

Ignore the man behind the uh, paper.

If you're not as directly linked to the lunar sequence as I am, (Why wouldn't you be?) the full moon this fortune is referring to was this last Friday night. No, it didn't involve Katy Perry.

Hmm.
On second thought, Katy can explain the weekend almost as well as I can.

1. Last Friday Night
2. California Girls
3. I kissed a Girl
4. Peacock
5. Teenage Dream
6. If We Ever Meet Again

If you decipher this oh so mysterious musical message then Kudos! You're probably a really preppy teenage girl or really awkward male figure!
The reason that I'm so knowledgeable in KP music is because I'm actually a oh my god someone just broke into my house, someone call 911 before they get meenr'oern'orenvroxrctvybpiun.

An Eventful Day

Today has been very eventful. Not so in that I have been busy, but in that its been a day that has put a smile on my face many times :)
Lets start with work. I woke up late, but only just enough that I was still able to run out the door and make it on time. I get to work to discover that I am in fact, serving lunch to the producer and writer of NCIS. As in the Tv show. During this time at work, I had to hand in my formal resignation, Which is the only bad (really sad) part of the day. I love my job :(   However, I was then promptly offered another job at where I'm going and told I would always have a place back here. I was then given a 24 pack Mountain Dew Cube, just because they had an extra. After I finished strapping the Dew Cube (lol rhyme) to the back of my bike, I conversed with the Chef of the day and he told me of a new way to cook the steaks I've been pulling out of the fridge every other day. I'm cooking it as we speak/read (Write?)

Next, I booked it to biology lab, where for the first time in 3 weeks I haven't had to dissect something. (Another small let down, but I can live with this one) We were given choice of fork spoon knife and chop sticks as our weapons. I chop-sticked it up and pounded that pasta picking game like a boss!!! Afterwards, we were asked as a group to develop a new species of animal. As expected, we put wings on an alligator and made it the size of a school bus. We named our beautiful creation the Pkrocadactyl. He lives in the ocean most of the year but comes up around Christmas time to eat. His favorite food? Small children. Why? We didn't ask.

The professor then asked one person from each group to come to the board and draw our new species, to which she proposed we should create an imaginary species cock fight. Yea.
Pkrocadactyl won the first round, but was decided against in the second because some nerd decided to give his 65ft dolphin venom glands. -_-

After watching the rest of them go, one came up that was explained a little oddly. The group turned out to be 3 chinese kids, who decided to take a Pikachu, and mate it with a Pigdeotto. Their little devil spawn was named Pikaetto.
Not quite what we pictured.
Once they had pika-stopped explaining its pika-lifestyle, I pika-proceeded to poke'-poke holes in it.

Me: ......The Hell is that??
Them: (Laughs) Pikachu's and Pidgeotto's baby!

Me: Whats its Pokedex say?
Them: (Laughing more) Nothing yet, no one has caught one!

Me: Does it evolve into that? (points to Pkrocadactyl)
Them: (Falls to the floor laughing)

Me: No further questions.

After this, my apparent knowledge of poke'mon caught the attention of a girl I've been having encounters with lately. She turned to me and said, "My respect for you just went way weiwonfwejnf......"

Yea I didn't understand it either. So after class I asked her what she had said again and she told me that her respect for me and my knowledge of poke'mon had gone way up since my question and answer round during class, to which we started a conversation about poke'mon that last about an half hour. Hmm. I've got 3 more classes to make this work with her and only 5 generations of poke'mon to do it with!
Challenge Accepted.

Once I got home and threw the Dew Cube (I just like saying that) in the fridge, I sat down and answered email and starting writing this. The Steaks were amazing by the way, although I need to figure out the perfect seasoning adjustments.

Steaks anyone?

Again, not what I had in mind.

Something Witty.

If there was ever a bad month to be had it was this one. I guess its possible, considering everyone can have a bad day. Maybe even a bad week. Its probably possible to even have a bad year, or maybe some are just more apt to suck at life. (Hi Everyone!!!!)
I'm really in a ranting mood right now, so you'll just have to bare with me here. I've been lonely, broke, ticketed, taken advantage of, rejected, kicked down by my own demons, and even stood up twice in the same week. The newest album of one of my favorite bands even sucked! -_-

What with everything that's happened this month, I still seem to have some hope that next month will be better, along with the rest of the year. Its probably just the fortune cookie that told me my summer will be splendid this year. After all, everyone knows Chinese people (especially those in the food industry) can see the future. This month is not without a glimmer of good news though.
-I can now listen to music while working on homework at the same time!!! :O (I know, its always been a huge problem with me)
-Last night I was shown something that gave me a little hope that not everything is so cut and dry good and bad in the world (Maybe more on that later)
-I am an avid reader of Cracked.com, and this last week they posted something that hit closer to home. I do not mean to justify my gender, and in fact there are times where I wish I could soccer kick specific men in the groin. But there are also times where I wish I could take this article, and rightly staple it to peoples forehead for thinking they are the only one's who suffer in this, "Male Dominated Society."
-I've recently been required to write an 8 page paper reflecting on my life's accomplishments and the journey its taken to get there (and by that I mean beaten so forcibly I could write the thing in my own blood). At first I kept telling myself that its just another dumb assignment I have to get out of the way, but after about the fourth page I started to take a bit of personal pride in this assignment. I really did start to see the areas in my life that I had grown from and progressed into, and it created a very humbling effect. At one point, I actually started writing about something extremely personal to me, only to realize that it was to be graded by my professor; to which it was promptly deleted.
My lesson in all this? Hell if I know. Probably something about not forgetting where you come from, but that would be just silly.

To all my loyal fans out there, (Ha)
Cheer up. Everyone has a past, and everyone makes choices that lead in one direction or another, but what really matters is taking the path that moves you forward.

As a (very) wise man once said, "The man being chased by the lion goes farther in life than the man who hides from it."

Circle of life my ass!

Found one!

Another leftover college Easter egg :)

I hope it hasn't spoiled...

Also, wish me luck on my hot date tonight.
Here's to not spilling coffee on her this time!

Friday, March 23, 2012

Someone get me a coffee.

Well, today has royally sucked, but with an odd humorous twist.

A a certain gym membership that I cancelled two months ago has decided to try and steal an extra month from me, but because I was not expecting the charge, there was not enough money in that specific account to pay for it. So the bank pays it, I pay the bank an overdraft fee, and I'm screwed out of around $80. . . . . . . .If I go quietly.

I CALLED EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM AND TOLD THEM ITS GONNA BE M*THERF**K*N ARMAGEDDON IF THEY DIDN'T PUT IT BACK BY MONDAY.
I have bills to pay and stuff yo.

I however, am in a laughing mood because of somethings today that made me smile.
-The girl that stood me up yesterday is getting coffee with me on Sunday,
-I've reconciled with a different girl that I met at a party a few weeks ago while I (and lets be honest here) couldn't remember a thing after seeing her
-I was told today by some random girl that out of me and some other guy, one of us will have cancer before we die.
-I found a banana under a cement divider. (I didn't eat it, although I'm sure it would have been quite the mysterious tasting banana.
-I had a guy sitting behind me (who was apparently watching me the whole time) congratulate my Words With Friends score of 142 points on the word BURQA,
-I discovered another Wsu easter egg, and with this discovery I have decided to start posting the little odd things that I find at the colleges I go to. Here are some so far:

My name is Mr. Hank. And this happens to be in the stall I was uhm, yea.

Semi-Truck couldn't get it up. (the hill)

The LOL was my contribution

It followed me home, can I keep it?

bleh.

Its been ages since I've been on here, and I'm sure all one of you (you know who you are) are just dying from the anticipation.

Bright things today:
-I had Panda Express!
-I got half a paper done today!
-Its snowing!
-My roommates aren't trying to pick a fight! (yet)
-I got to make some groovy work money today!
-I was told I look like I've lost weight!

Not so bright things today:
-Panda made me sick
-I've got 4 other papers today, all of which are considerably longer
-I don't have my snowbike anymore
-They haven't paid me for electricity last month
-My application will be very touch and go because of the last minute nature of this choice
-I have to wake up at 5am to finish what I started at work
-I wasn't trying to -_-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bright things this week:
-I'm back in Pullman!
-Walking Dead season finale was amazing!
-I found a website to read the Walking Dead comics!
-The Wsu lounge got all new (EXTREMELY) comfortable chairs!
-I'm up to 64 views!
-I've almost applied to another college!
-I've re-discovered an old band I saw in concert once and can't stop listening to them!
-I generally don't hate life! (I blame you Kink)

Not so bright things this week:

-You have to pull together 3 of them to take a nap
-I'm up 64 views
-Ha, another college.
-I'll soon tire of them
-No promises next week.

Now that I'm done being happy/complaining/bipolar, I'm off to brave the weather on my treacherous bike ride home, and since you won't understand how crucial having the right kind of tires on your bike is, here's a picture equation.

Come at me Snow
